KINGS OF MACEDON. Time of Antigonos II Gonatas, Demetrios II Aitolikos, and Antigonos III Doson (?), 246/5-229 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.96 g, 11 h), Amphipolis (?). Head of Poseidon to right, wearing wreath of seaweed. Rev. Apollo seated to left on prow, holding bow in his right hand; on the planks, BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ANTIΓONOΥ in two lines; in exergue, monogram. EHC 436. HGC 3, 1051. Panagopoulou 176-184. SNG Alpha Bank 1046-7. Lightly toned and with a fine head of Poseidon. Minor marks and with very light doubling on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
